Shooting / Tailored to you

Point shooting

A point-shooting course split into four sessions. Exercises with a pistol, revolver and rifle; up to eight people per group.

Point shooting is instinctive shooting: a fast shot at short range, without a long, deliberate aim. We teach Matt Temkin's Point Shooting method — in 2018 Matt Temkin from New York, a student of Col. Rex Applegate, ran a course with us in Poznań himself.

Schedule

What the day looks like.

  1. 01

    Briefing and safety

We start with the rules of safe firearm handling and go through the plan for the day. Everyone gets eye and ear protection.

  2. 02

    Dry weapon handling

Grip, stance, sights, loading and magazine changes — first without ammunition, calmly, until the movement feels confident.

  3. 03

    Shooting under instructor supervision

Range exercises in small relays. The instructor stands next to you and corrects mistakes as you go, and the difficulty grows with your confidence.

  4. 04

    Stress, movement and decisions

At higher levels we add fatigue, movement, cover and selective fire — so the skill works under pressure too.

  5. 05

    Debrief

We review your progress and suggest what to practise next and which course to choose after this one.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Do I need a firearms licence?

No. DefendU shooting courses are for people without a firearms licence — you shoot under an instructor's supervision.

Do I need my own firearm?

No. You can hire a firearm on site, and ammunition is included in the course price. If you have your own firearm, you are welcome to bring it.

I've never fired a gun. Where should I start?

With the Pistol level I or Rifle level I course. It's one day in which you learn the basics from scratch: safety, stance, weapon handling and an accurate shot.

How much does a shooting course cost?

Pistol levels I and II — PLN 1,200 per person per day; Rifle levels I and II — PLN 1,700 per person per day. The price includes the training, firearms and ammunition. Prices shown are final prices.

Who are the courses for?

For adults: beginners who want to learn to shoot safely, firearm owners who want to shoot better, and people preparing for service.

How many people are in a group?

Pistol and rifle courses start from 6 people. Groups are small so the instructor can correct everyone individually. Point shooting is also available one-to-one.

What time does the course start?

The start time and group size are agreed individually when you sign up — we fit them to the participants.

How do I sign up?

Pick a date on the course page and book a place online, or call us. If there is no date that suits you, write to us — we also put groups together on request.
