Description
A large, thick survival fire starter for lighting fires in the field. Works even when wet, in rain and in snow. It is simple to use: scrape a little magnesium with the serrated edge of the striker, then strike the rod firmly, aiming the sparks at the shavings. Used correctly it lasts for many thousands of strikes. The rod and striker are tied together with cord — carry them on a lanyard, as a key ring or as a wrist loop.
